As of 2024, High School Speech contests allow for contestants to enter up to two categories. This walkthrough video describes how it will work at festivals.
Some festivals may not allow double-entry, due to space concerns; in those cases, a student’s second category may be entered online as part of the statewide virtual subdistrict or district. For the State Festival, contestants must be registered in different time slots (which may be virtual) for their second categories. Students who are exclusively virtual may always be registered to participate in both categories virtually.
Adjudicators must always let students come and go (between presentations) during a round at a festival where double-entry is allowed.
