Adjudicator did not apply a rule correctly.

Did not build to a climax as I would have thought, expected a longer delivery

The referee committee reviewed the comments by the adjudicator and believe that the comments with the associated point deduction were placed in the appropriate area of the evaluation. Under “Conveying Meaning” the questions are about speakers projecting motivation, etc. The last question under that element asks if the scene builds to a climax. The adjudicator wrote that, “the scene did not build to a climax as I would have thought, as I was expecting a longer delivery.” The adjudicator justified the deduction of a point by answering the question that was asked. Also, in our categories including Play Acting, there is a rule that states the maximum time limit but also states that “development of the performance is open to critique.”
