Participating in debate is easy! All you have to do is contact us to express your interest, and we’ll connect you with our supportive network of educators. We encourage local circuits of schools to hold invitational contests throughout the fall semester, and will provide support staff to help launch debates in your part of the state! For more information on formats/categories of debate, see our Learn to Debate page.

WISDAA will offer two online Debate festivals each month, from October through March. They will run from about 4:30-8:30pm, one Tuesday and one Thursday each month. These are meant to be opportunities for students to practice and build their skills among students from other schools.

Qualification for the State Festival, April 21-22, 2023 at UW-Madison/online will be determined by participation over the season (minimum participation in two festivals):

  • In LD and PF, win-loss average
  • in Congress, point average
